    Mon 27 Jun 2022

On Tuesday 21st June, Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Twycross Zoo to support their learning in science lessons this year. The children looked closely at the different habitats created for the animals at the zoo and discussed whether the animals were omnivores, carnivores or herbivores. A great time was had by all! Josh said, 'I loved the monkeys they were fighting and pushing each other'. Lexi was so pleased to have fed a rainbow lorikeet by hand, 'I was so nervous, my hand was shaking'. Yasmin said, 'The butterflies were so beautiful, they were flying around our heads'. Our special day was topped off by a dip in the Wet 'n' Wild play area. We had some tired explorers by the end of the day.

They played local rivals, St Patricks and proved that they have got lots of skill, as well as confidence and determination. The final score was 8:0, which included Furaha achieving four of the eight goals. Man of the match was Harry for making some great saves and keeping a clean sheet. • Hordain Football Tournament

    Mon 13 Jun 2022

On June 4th and 5th, the Moat House football team played very well against European opposition in France. The children battled hard in every match and had to perform under many different weather conditions, including storms, rain and sunshine. When a vital match ended in a draw, the children had to take part in a nail biting penalty shoot out. It was a victory for Moat House and particular mentions must go to Riley for scoring the winning penalty and to Harry for making a crucial save. Credit goes to all of the children who took part. We also had some lovely feedback from the host families who all commented on how well behaved the children were and what good manners they have.
