Black History Month

Black History Month:         Thank you to everyone who has supported us celebrating the end of Black History Month by dressing in black (resilience), red (love), yellow (optimism) and justice/fairness (green = greenery/nature). There were many children also dressed in traditional clothing and it was wonderful to see so many cultures reflected throughout the school on Thursday 24th October.

To mark the start of Black History Month, 5LM have been researching famous black scientists. They then researched three scientists whose work they found interesting and created posters about their lives and accomplishments, such as Mae Carol Jemison – the first African-American woman in space. The class are really looking forward to discovering more about Black History throughout the month of October!
