Sports Day
July 2026
Our annual Sports Day is a highlight of the school calendar, bringing together children, staff and families for a celebration of participation, teamwork and sporting achievement. Every child takes part in every activity, ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to challenge themselves, contribute to their house team and experience success.
The events include discus, javelin, shot put, sprint, 25m skipping, standing long jump and a bat and ball race. Each activity has been carefully chosen to showcase a wide range of skills and abilities, allowing every child to shine in different ways. Whether demonstrating speed, strength, coordination, balance or determination, all children are encouraged to give their best effort and support one another throughout the day.
Our Sports Day links closely to the School Games Values and the Olympic Values, promoting qualities such as determination, respect, honesty, teamwork, self-belief and passion. Through competition and participation, children learn the importance of perseverance, celebrating success and showing resilience when faced with challenges.
Children compete to earn valuable points for their house teams, making every event important and encouraging a strong sense of belonging and community spirit. The atmosphere is always full of excitement, encouragement and friendly competition as pupils cheer on their teammates and celebrate each other's achievements.
Sports Day is a truly wonderful team event that not only showcases the talents and skills of our children but also brings our whole school community together. It is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to demonstrate the values we promote throughout the year while creating lasting memories and enjoying a day of fun, friendship and sport.
