Dog's Trust

Sarah from the Dog's Trust visited Moat House to deliver dog safety assembly and workshops which was dedicated to fostering secure, loving connections between children and their canine companions. The children shared ideas around what should be considered before getting a pet dog and how to ensure your dog loves an active, healthy, fulfilled life.

🐾 The whole school attended an assembly which taught them all about the benefits of owning a four-legged, furry friend but also the responsibilities that are associated with that. Sarah shared strategies that children can use if confronted by an unfamiliar dog and how to be safe and kind to dogs.

🐾Years 2 and 3 enjoyed engaging workshops. By the end, the children felt empowered with the knowledge and skills to interact safely with dogs both at home and in other social settings.

🐾 Here is what our children said,

'I didn't know you should leave dogs alone while they are sleeping and eating'.

'I will ask my Mum if we can walk our dog more now'.

'If a dog comes near you, don't run around and scream. Just stay still and fold your arms across your body'.
