2024-25 Season
Moat House v Henley Green:
On Wednesday 13th November, the football team played a friendly match against Henley Green Primary School. Max (the captain) managed to score two early goals and it finished a very comfortable 6:0. Our goalkeeper (Ezekiel) did brilliantly to keep a clean sheet. Well done!
Joseph Cash v Moat House:
On Wednesday 6th November, the Moat House football team competed in their first match of the Harry Shaw Cup tournament against Joseph Cash Primary School. Moat House played extremely well and kept possession by passing the ball around. By half time, the score was 0:3 to us and we were looking very comfortable. The final score was 3:8 – four goals each for Bradley and Max. What a great start to the tournament! Reported by Ezekiel and Jamal.
Moat House v St Patrick's:
Moat House welcomed St Patrick’s football team on Wednesday 16th October and they played their first football match of the season. The match started with both teams passing well and causing each other problems. The deadlock was opened by Bradley with a smart finish and was quickly followed by two goals from Max. Another Bradley finish made it 4:0 at halftime. Bradley and Max both completed their hat tricks in the second half with Alex chipping in with a couple of goals. Final score 8:0 - what a great start to the season!
Hordain 2024:
The school football team returned to Coventry after a very enjoyable tournament in Hordain, France in the early hours of Tuesday morning (21st May). The team did brilliantly and finished 9th out of 20 teams, having played against some very competitive European teams. They won all three of their matches on the second day, including knocking out the host team in a penalty shootout! The children especially enjoyed experiencing European culture by staying with host families, which included them tasting local cuisine and trying to communicate in a mixture of English and French.
Hordain 2023:
We had an enjoyable weekend in France (again) from 27th - 29th May 2023. Despite taking a small squad of just 9 players, we won four of our matches and lost the other three. This meant that we finished 11th out of 20 teams. During the tournament, Filip scored a total of five goals; the most ever scored by a single Moat House player. However, this would not have been possible without the support of the rest of the team. We are very proud of all of them!
On Thursday 9th February, our football team won convincingly against local rivals, St. Patricks. The team worked well together and created some fantastic chances – the final score was 3:0 and man of the match was awarded to Max.
On 26th January, some of our children in Key Stage 2 played in a friendly football match against local rivals Henley Green. We were able to field two teams and both teams battled hard to draw in both matches. The scores were 0:0 and 2:2. Congratulations to Filip and Alex for scoring and well done to all of the players for a great team effort.
