Week beginning: 17th October 2022

This week, Year 1 have focused on permissions. We read a story called ‘Don’t Hug Doug’ by Carrie Finison. We talked about how some people do not like hugs so we should always check with others before we give hugs. We discussed other ways of greeting our friends other than hugging such as; high fiving or fist pump or shaking hands.

We then practised asking for permission to each other and we checked that it was ok to either hug, high five or shake hands. The children all loved it! Lots of lovely smiles!
