As technology is rapidly changing and becoming essential to our everyday lives, at Moat House we have decided to follow Purple Mash’s scheme of work. The scheme takes a spiral approach which means that themes, knowledge and skills are revisited throughout, building in the opportunity to deepen knowledge and understanding and to make connections whilst also building upon knowledge and skills. We aim to give all pupils the skills to participate responsibly and safely in a digital world for work or leisure. Our computing curriculum addresses the three strands of the National Curriculum through fun, engaging and progressive lessons. Computing skills are taught explicitly within computing lessons and also across other curriculum subjects which enables children to remember and embed their knowledge and understanding of skills. Online safety is taught throughout each year and also during themed days.
