Moat House Apiary
Please note that due to our bees relocating, the apiary is not in use this year. We tried to persuade them to stay but they had other plans...
Moat House Apiary
Moat House is very proud of its apiary, which now consists of two bee hives. Mr Black has received special training to look after the bees and their hives. Every Summer, the honey is harvested and we have, on a good year, managed to collect up to 140 jars of honey! The children enjoy learning about the bees and helping with the honey harvest. The children who attend our Breakfast Club even enjoy Moat House Honey on their toast! We have also had children visit from other local schools. Some children from St. Augustine’s Primary School were interested in visiting the apiary and they especially enjoyed taking home a souvenir – their very own jar of Moat House Honey!
Honey is available to purchase. Please ask at the school office for more information.
