2EW have been exploring religious perspectives and responses to evil and suffering in the world through the Buddhist stories, ‘Siddhartha and the Swan’ and ‘The Monkey King’. Both stories show the importance of caring for others (including animals) regardless of how powerful, rich or important you are. We agreed that you should treat animals fairly and seek help from adults if any are in need. Children considered if this belief is a value that would be shared by all religions or just some and we agreed all.
