Macmillan Coffee Morning
Mon 19 Sep 2022Macmillan Coffee morning: On Friday 23rd September, we will be holding a non-uniform day in exchange for a donation of shop bought cakes (which will need to be in date and edible for at least a week). The following week (Friday 30th September), we will be participating in the national Macmillan coffee morning. Parents, carers, relatives and friends are invited to join us in the school dining area from 9:15 am – 10:15 am, to enjoy a coffee (or tea) and a cake for a small donation. Our children, of course, will not be missing out - there will be a cake sale during the day, so children are invited to bring along 20p to buy a cake. We look forward to welcoming you in school and we would like to thank you for supporting us to raise money for the fabulous work that the Macmillan nurses do.

Year 4 Swiming
Mon 19 Sep 2022Swimming lessons for our Year 4 children will commence on Friday 23rd September and will then continue every Friday afternoon – the children will travel by coach to the Alan Higgs Centre and will be taught by a qualified swimming instructor. On their first day. the children will be assessed in their water confidence and swimming ability and will then be grouped, in order to progress their water and swimming skills. Your child will need to ensure that he/she brings in a swimming costume or swimming trunks (sports shorts are not allowed), as well as a towel. The children will return to school before 3:20pm so that they can be collected at the usual time.

News w/e 9th Sept 22
Wed 14 Sep 2022Thank you: On behalf of all the staff at Moat House, I would like to offer our thanks for the generous gifts we received in the final week of the Summer term – it was very much appreciated.
Welcome Back: It was great to see the children back in school on Tuesday 6th September and I hope that they have all enjoyed their first few days in their new classes. They were all very smartly dressed and looked wonderful! The Year 6 children looked especially grown up in their new black sweatshirts and seem ready to take on the mantle of being role models for the rest of the school. I am looking forward to another exciting year at Moat House and look forward to meeting you at Parents’ Evening, class assemblies or on the playground at the start or end of the school day. .
Class Assemblies: We are looking forward to bringing class assemblies back to Moat House and welcoming you into school to find out what your children have been learning. Please make a note of your child’s class assembly date, as detailed below;

DRA Vacancies:
Do you like working with children? Do you have some free time during the day? We are currently looking for lunchtime supervisors to look after our children at lunchtimes. The role would involve helping the children when they are eating their lunch eg: cutting up food, as well as supervising them when they are playing outside. Many of our current DRAs find it to be a very rewarding and worthwhile role, which can open up further possibilities for work in childcare. Please call in to the school office for an application form, if you are interested.
