Thank you:
Mon 08 Feb 2021Thank you to everyone who is working with us to keep the children learning during this challenging time. I’ve heard some great things from the teachers about how well most children are engaging with their learning and it sounds like there is some serious hard work going on!
You should still be having regular communication with your child’s class teacher about the online learning that they are doing. We expect that all children should complete the work that is set and the government have made it very clear to us that we must do this throughout the lockdown. Teachers are available during the school day to discuss this with you. If you need any support with connecting to wifi or using data please talk to your child’s teacher and we will see what we can do to help. It would be really helpful if you could let your child’s teacher have photographs of any work that they have completed so they can mark it and provide feedback.
I would remind the families who are currently sending their children to school to keep them at home if possible and only send them in if there is no alternative. If your child doesn’t come in on a day we are expecting them can you please contact us to let us know.
If you need any support during the lockdown please phone school on 02476 612073 between 8.30am and 3.30pm or contact the following email: information@moathouse.coventry.sch.uk

Moat House has got talent!
Mon 21 Dec 2020Our Key Stage 1 children showed off their singing, dancing and performing skills in a talent show in the hall on Thursday 17th December, whilst our Key Stage 2 children performed via Zoom. It was super for the children to be able to showcase their talents in front of their friends and they deserve to be congratulated for their efforts! -
Pantomime:
Fri 18 Dec 2020Although our children were not able to enjoy the traditional pantomime experience in our school hall with the whole school, they certainly did not miss out! During the week commencing 14th December, they were able to enjoy a pre-recorded pantomime entitled: Robin Hood, which they watched from the big screen in their classrooms. -
Christmas Lunch:
Fri 18 Dec 2020On Wednesday 16th December, we all got into the Christmas spirit and enjoyed a traditional festive lunch. The children were served with turkey, vegetables, stuffing and gravy, followed by fancy cup-cakes and ice cream, whilst listening to some festive music. -
Mission Accomplished:
Thu 10 Dec 2020On Tuesday 8th December, we delivered your generous donations of festive food to the Coventry City Mission. They were extremely grateful for your donations and told us that the extra treats would be distributed within the local community to top up on the usual basic food parcels. -
COVID-19:
Mon 07 Dec 2020Please read the information below as it is a key part of ensuring our continued safety, and that we can all enjoy the upcoming Christmas holidays...
As of today, if we were to be ask any children to self-isolate, as a close contact of a positive case of Coronavirus, it would take them through to the end of term, and they would not return to school until January. None of us want this. From the 10th December, if we were to ask a student who was a close contact of a positive case to self-isolate it would actually cut across the 5-day National “unlocking” and would impact directly on your family plans for Christmas celebrations. This could include Christmas Day! I am sure that none of us want this. In order to continue to protect our school community, you MUST make sure that if your child is unwell in anyway, that they do not attend school. If they have the top three symptoms of a temperature OR a new continuous cough OR a loss of taste or smell, you must self-isolate until you have taken a test and got the result. If your child is unwell in any other way, we ask that you keep them off school, and if in any doubt, please get a test for your piece of mind and ours.

The children were introduced to Safety Seymour who taught them about the appliances which can release carbon monoxide. The children learned how to recognise the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning which include, headache, dizziness and vomiting and that getting fresh air is the best cure. Anti-Bullying Week:
Fri 20 Nov 2020It was wonderful to see our children (and staff) wearing odd socks to promote diversity across the community and wider world on Monday 16th November. All through the week, classes took part in activities to raise awareness of the importance of anti-bullying, whether this be physical, verbal or emotional. In UKS2, the children also nominated anti-bullying ambassadors, who have the important role of promoting positive relationships, as well as anti-bullying, across Moat House. Our anti-bullying ambassadors are: Ashanti and Hariam (5SP), Mateusz and Michaela (5SH), Junior and Vasni (6CB), Makai and Lacey P (6JK).
