Nursery Places September 2021
Wed 12 May 2021Do you have a child who will be turning 3 before 31st August 2021, they are allegeable for a Nursery place if you wish for your child to have a Nursery place at Moat House please email the school office and we will send you a form to complete. office@moathouse.coventry.sch.uk

Y2 Postbox Walk
Tue 04 May 2021On Friday 30th April, our Year 2 children enjoyed a sunny walk to the local postbox at Potters Green. They all posted a letter to their home address to find out how long it takes for a letter to be received in a traditional way, compared to more up to date electronic communication. The children are currently learning about the internet and considering how it can be helpful or harmful. They are looking forward to their deliveries so please look out for these in the next couple of days.

Performance
Tue 27 Apr 2021On Friday 23rd April, Reception and Key Stage 1 enjoyed a live performance on Zoom called 'The Three Little Pig Tails'. The show was performed by 2 people who used puppets to tell the story. Children were able to sing along as well as copy actions and of course we had the pantomime "BOO" included too! At the end, children were shown how the puppets were created and used and we also had the opportunity to ask questions to the actors. What a lovely way to end the week!

Olympic Torch Relay
Tue 27 Apr 2021A relay has started in Coventry involving many primary and secondary schools where children will have the chance to carry an Olympic torch a short distance. This is happening to recognise the fact that the Olympics will be taking place in Tokyo this summer. We will be participating in the relay in June and we'll let you have more details nearer the time. We hope to involve as many children as possible.

City of Culture
Mon 29 Mar 2021City of Culture: Moat House has been lucky enough to have been selected as one of only twelve schools asked to design a large banner, as part of the City of Culture launch event, titled 'Coventry Moves'. Children in Year 6 designed a banner around the word 'Resilience'. This design will now be turned into a large street banner, which will be on display in Coventry city centre. The children worked incredibly hard on this and are really looking forward to seeing their design on display!

Red Nose Day
Mon 29 Mar 2021Red Nose Day: Following our successful Red Nose Day for the children who were in school on Friday 19th March, we are delighted to announce that the winning class for the Moat House Quiz was 4KG and so they have won a cinema style afternoon, complete with popcorn and hot chocolate!

We have created the website to keep parents up to date with school news and notices, and to showcase some of the great things our pupils are achieving. COVID-19:
Fri 12 Mar 2021We have now had confirmation that the people who we thought might have COVID have tested positive with PCR tests. This means that all of the children and staff in Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 will need to continue to self-isolate until Saturday 27th March. They will be able to return to school on Monday 29th March providing they are well. I met with Public Health England yesterday and they have asked me to let them know if any other children have symptoms or test positive. Can you please let me know if this is the case? So far, nobody else has tested positive so we hope it's an isolated cluster. Any children not at school because of this will continue to have remote learning, as they did in January and February. We have organised for families that had Chromebooks then to get them again so the children can access their work.
