Latest News

Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.

  • COVID-19:

    Fri 20 Nov 2020
To date, we have still not had any positive cases amongst any of our children. If any parents or carers have not yet told us about internet availability and whether children have access to a device can you please let their teacher know asap. Also, can you please make sure that we have an up to date telephone number if your number has changed since September.
  • School Meals:

    Mon 09 Nov 2020
We have noticed a severe drop in the number of orders being placed online for school meals. If the order is not placed, we will give your child the main option of the day dependant on their dietary requirements. Once the option is selected, it cannot be changed as the food is made to order. That means if you have not informed us of your child’s choices for the week, they may not have a meal of their liking that day and we are unable to give them an alternative. We are seeing vast amounts of food not being eaten and thrown away. Please help us to ensure your child is given a filling meal that they will enjoy each day by submitting your school meal choices on time every week. Thank you.
  • Thanks:

    Mon 02 Nov 2020
I'd like to say thank you and well done to all of our children for coming back to school with such positive attitudes. They have made great progress since September and we would like to congratulate them for their efforts.
  • Parents’ Evening/Consultations:

    Mon 26 Oct 2020
We are planning to inform parents/carers about the progress and attainment of your child in an alternative form to the traditional evening whereby you come to school and meet your child’s class teacher face to face. Once we have finalised the details and arrangements we will let you know how this will work but in the meantime, please contact the school office if you have any problems or concerns regarding your child in school.
  • Ventilation:

    Fri 23 Oct 2020
After a recent health and safety visit, we have been advised that the windows should remain open wherever possible for improved ventilation. Due to this, the temperature in school may fluctuate so therefore you may wish to supply your child with additional layers of clothing (e.g cardigan or vest).
  • Donation from Asda:

    Thu 22 Oct 2020
In the week beginning Monday 19th October, we received a ‘Getting School Back on Track Grant’ donation from Asda Foundation.  We would like to thank Asda, especially Lynda Cole, Community Champion at Asda Walsgrave for their support.
  • Car park:

    Wed 21 Oct 2020
Can we remind you to be careful when parking to drop or collect your children. We are very lucky not to have to drop them off on Deedmore Road but acknowledge that the car park gets full very quickly before and after school. Please be patient and considerate at these times to help us keep the children safe.
  • Flu Vaccinations:

    Fri 16 Oct 2020
On Wednesday 14th October 2020, our children from Reception to Year 6 were offered the annual flu vaccination, which is administered via a nasal spray. We had a positive take up and we hope that this will help to keep our children healthy throughout the winter season. If your child was absent on this day, or if you missed the opportunity to register your child, then you can contact the vaccination team as follows: telephone – 024 7696 1422, email – bewise.immunise@covwarkpt.nhs.uk  Please contact the team to book your child an appointment to attend a vaccination clinic. The clinics will be held at St. Peters Centre, Charles Street, Coventry, CV1 5NP and they have various dates in October, November and December. Alternatively you can contact your local GP’s surgery, where they will also be able to offer the vaccination.
  • SIMS Parent:

    Tue 13 Oct 2020
All parents and carers were recently sent an email that gives access to the SIMS Parent app, which provides a secure facility to request updates to key information that the school holds for your child (contact details/allergies/medical information/consent etc). Please can you ensure that you use this facility to update us with any changes that we need to be aware of eg: if your child develops an allergy or if there is a change in contact information. If you have not received the invitation email, then please let the school office know.
  • School Council:

    Tue 13 Oct 2020
On Monday we held our first socially distanced School Council meeting and discussed a number of things affecting the whole school. We asked children to ask their classes about home learning ie: what worked well and how things could be improved, new playground markings as well as ideas for Children in Need.
