Mission Accomplished:
Thu 10 Dec 2020On Tuesday 8th December, we delivered your generous donations of festive food to the Coventry City Mission. They were extremely grateful for your donations and told us that the extra treats would be distributed within the local community to top up on the usual basic food parcels. -
COVID-19:
Mon 07 Dec 2020Please read the information below as it is a key part of ensuring our continued safety, and that we can all enjoy the upcoming Christmas holidays...
As of today, if we were to be ask any children to self-isolate, as a close contact of a positive case of Coronavirus, it would take them through to the end of term, and they would not return to school until January. None of us want this. From the 10th December, if we were to ask a student who was a close contact of a positive case to self-isolate it would actually cut across the 5-day National “unlocking” and would impact directly on your family plans for Christmas celebrations. This could include Christmas Day! I am sure that none of us want this. In order to continue to protect our school community, you MUST make sure that if your child is unwell in anyway, that they do not attend school. If they have the top three symptoms of a temperature OR a new continuous cough OR a loss of taste or smell, you must self-isolate until you have taken a test and got the result. If your child is unwell in any other way, we ask that you keep them off school, and if in any doubt, please get a test for your piece of mind and ours.

Carbon Monoxide Awareness:
Fri 27 Nov 2020On Thursday 26th November, Year 2 took part in a virtual lesson to learn all about Carbon Monoxide safety. The children were introduced to Safety Seymour who taught them about the appliances which can release carbon monoxide. The children learned how to recognise the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning which include, headache, dizziness and vomiting and that getting fresh air is the best cure. All Year 2 families received a free carbon monoxide alarm and a leaflet informing them about carbon monoxide dangers and how to prevent any incidences in the family home.

Anti-Bullying Week:
Fri 20 Nov 2020It was wonderful to see our children (and staff) wearing odd socks to promote diversity across the community and wider world on Monday 16th November. All through the week, classes took part in activities to raise awareness of the importance of anti-bullying, whether this be physical, verbal or emotional. In UKS2, the children also nominated anti-bullying ambassadors, who have the important role of promoting positive relationships, as well as anti-bullying, across Moat House. Our anti-bullying ambassadors are: Ashanti and Hariam (5SP), Mateusz and Michaela (5SH), Junior and Vasni (6CB), Makai and Lacey P (6JK).

COVID-19:
Fri 20 Nov 2020To date, we have still not had any positive cases amongst any of our children. If any parents or carers have not yet told us about internet availability and whether children have access to a device can you please let their teacher know asap. Also, can you please make sure that we have an up to date telephone number if your number has changed since September. -
School Meals:
Mon 09 Nov 2020We have noticed a severe drop in the number of orders being placed online for school meals. If the order is not placed, we will give your child the main option of the day dependant on their dietary requirements. Once the option is selected, it cannot be changed as the food is made to order. That means if you have not informed us of your child’s choices for the week, they may not have a meal of their liking that day and we are unable to give them an alternative. We are seeing vast amounts of food not being eaten and thrown away. Please help us to ensure your child is given a filling meal that they will enjoy each day by submitting your school meal choices on time every week. Thank you. -
Thanks:
Mon 02 Nov 2020I'd like to say thank you and well done to all of our children for coming back to school with such positive attitudes. They have made great progress since September and we would like to congratulate them for their efforts. -
Parents’ Evening/Consultations:
Mon 26 Oct 2020We are planning to inform parents/carers about the progress and attainment of your child in an alternative form to the traditional evening whereby you come to school and meet your child’s class teacher face to face. Once we have finalised the details and arrangements we will let you know how this will work but in the meantime, please contact the school office if you have any problems or concerns regarding your child in school. -
Ventilation:
Fri 23 Oct 2020After a recent health and safety visit, we have been advised that the windows should remain open wherever possible for improved ventilation. Due to this, the temperature in school may fluctuate so therefore you may wish to supply your child with additional layers of clothing (e.g cardigan or vest). -
