In the week commencing 8th March, we celebrated British Science Week 2021 by carrying out various investigations across the school. In Nursery, the children experimented with sweets - they considered what sweets are made of and what happens when sugar comes into contact with warm water. Reception children have been investigating reversible and irreversible changes. They looked at the changes that happen to make toast and ice and investigated whether they could get them back to their original state. The children also made Mother's Day canvases using wax crayon melting. In Key Stage One, children carried out various experiments, including making a water purifier and inventing a new toy. Other experiments included creating 'moving pictures', using magnets to manipulate characters. In Key Stage 2, a range of investigations were taking place - these included making a paddle boat to take part in a race and designing a 'robo-bug'. Well done to all of the children this week who have all been fantastic scientists!
