  • Car park:

    Wed 21 Oct 2020
Can we remind you to be careful when parking to drop or collect your children. We are very lucky not to have to drop them off on Deedmore Road but acknowledge that the car park gets full very quickly before and after school. Please be patient and considerate at these times to help us keep the children safe.
  • Flu Vaccinations:

    Fri 16 Oct 2020
On Wednesday 14th October 2020, our children from Reception to Year 6 were offered the annual flu vaccination, which is administered via a nasal spray. We had a positive take up and we hope that this will help to keep our children healthy throughout the winter season. If your child was absent on this day, or if you missed the opportunity to register your child, then you can contact the vaccination team as follows: telephone – 024 7696 1422, email – bewise.immunise@covwarkpt.nhs.uk  Please contact the team to book your child an appointment to attend a vaccination clinic. The clinics will be held at St. Peters Centre, Charles Street, Coventry, CV1 5NP and they have various dates in October, November and December. Alternatively you can contact your local GP’s surgery, where they will also be able to offer the vaccination.
  • SIMS Parent:

    Tue 13 Oct 2020
All parents and carers were recently sent an email that gives access to the SIMS Parent app, which provides a secure facility to request updates to key information that the school holds for your child (contact details/allergies/medical information/consent etc). Please can you ensure that you use this facility to update us with any changes that we need to be aware of eg: if your child develops an allergy or if there is a change in contact information. If you have not received the invitation email, then please let the school office know.
  • School Council:

    Tue 13 Oct 2020
On Monday we held our first socially distanced School Council meeting and discussed a number of things affecting the whole school. We asked children to ask their classes about home learning ie: what worked well and how things could be improved, new playground markings as well as ideas for Children in Need.
  • Moat House Honey:

    Thu 08 Oct 2020
We had a pretty good harvest this year and have honey for sale that was made by our very own bees. This delicious honey can be purchased on SIMs Pay. The cost is £2.50 for an 8oz jar and £3.50 for a 12oz jar. All profits will be added to the school fund and spent on the children.
  • Anti-Bullying Assembly:

    Wed 30 Sep 2020
On Monday 28th September 2020, 5SH took part in ‘The Big Anti-Bullying Assembly’. This was a virtual event held by Nationwide Building Society and The Diana Award and was broadcast throughout the whole of the UK. They enjoyed a host of celebrity personal stories, messages and special performances, and were given key information and guidance on how to handle bullying behaviour and the support available. They joined together with celebrities, as well as teachers and children at thousands of schools by ‘putting their hands up’ to end bullying. They then thought carefully about five people they could go to if they were ever concerned about bullying. They noted these people down on a 'hand', which they then decorated and placed somewhere easy to find.
  • Macmillan Coffee Morning:

    Mon 28 Sep 2020
On Friday 25th September 2020, we held a Macmillan Coffee morning with a difference! The children were invited to order a cake online and they enjoyed a lemon drizzle cake, Canadian ginger cake or flapjack. We managed to raise a fantastic £204, which will be donated to the Macmillan organisation so that they can continue to support people with cancer.
  • Appropriate Clothing:

    Thu 24 Sep 2020
As the temperatures drop and we enter the Autumn and Winter months, it is really important that children have a warm coat and waterproof shoes to keep them dry and warm at playtimes and lunchtimes.  Can you please make sure that these are labelled with the children’s name so that they don’t get lost.
  • PE Kit:

    Mon 21 Sep 2020
Just a reminder that for all PE lessons at school, hair should be tied up, jewellery removed and suitable outdoor attire is needed. Now that the weather is also getting colder, children will need a long sleeved top/jumper/zipped jacket along with jogging bottoms/leggings and trainers. Unless it is raining, outdoor PE will take place as per class timetables.
  • Face masks:

    Mon 14 Sep 2020
Official guidance for how to wear a mask correctly can be seen at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51205344 It states that to be effective the mask must cover your nose and mouth to limit the spread of droplets. Can we ask that you please look at this guidance to check that you are wearing your mask correctly.
