  • Dogs’ Trust:

    Mon 10 Jul 2023

On Tuesday 4th July, Years 1 to 6 participated in workshops with Sarah from the Dogs’ Trust. We were told about the 'Five Happy Rules' for staying safe around dogs; these include: leaving a dog alone if it is sleeping, playing or eating, not hugging or squeezing them and always asking permission from an adult before approaching a dog. We were also told about the importance of caring for dogs, making sure they get enough exercise, learning basic commands and being treated as part of the family because they have feelings, too. • Brass Performance:

    Mon 10 Jul 2023

On Monday 3rd July we enjoyed hearing how our children have progressed in their brass instrument tuition this year. Philip, Zackarie, Tyrone, Ibtihaj, Leo, Sahr, Livia and Aysam (Year 5) played a range of brass instruments including the baritone and cornet and they impressed us all with their accuracy and reading of music – we especially enjoyed the finale: Let’s Stick Together by Bryan Ferry. Thanks to Mrs Alison for enabling our children to share their skills.

  • 2CD’s Class Assembly:

    Mon 10 Jul 2023

2CD impressed us on Monday 3rd July with their knowledge of dinosaurs. They told us lots of interesting facts as well as singing and reading a poem. We had good fun attempting to identify the dinosaurs from the clues that they gave us. A great assembly! Thanks 2CD.

  • Year 2 Trip to Conkers:

    Mon 10 Jul 2023

Our Year 2 children had the most incredible time at Conkers on Friday 30th June. They conquered an outdoor adventure trail, rode on a train, went on a treetop walk, explored a maze and to most of their disgust went on a barefoot trail through a sensory trail. From start to finish the children made precious memories. A great time was had by all! Meagan said, “It’s the greatest day of my whole entire life. I love it here!”

  • Year 6 Bowling Trip:

    Mon 03 Jul 2023

On Thursday 29th June, the Year 6 children were rewarded with a trip to Tenpin Bowling as a treat for their hard work leading up to SATs. The children all had a brilliant day and many even managed to get a strike! A few of the children demonstrated a great talent for the sport, with some managing to score over 100 points - Marghalara, Kalina, Favour, Xavier, Oskar and Rory were especially proud of their huge scores! All children were perfectly behaved and represented Moat House well, with some staff members even commenting on how brilliant their behaviour was. Well done Year 6.

  • Year 5 Go Ape:

    Mon 03 Jul 2023

The children who remained in Coventry had an action-packed three days! On Monday 26th June, they enjoyed an active scavenger hunt around the school site, learned more about Moat House's beehives, including how honey is created, and made animal-themed tessellated art pieces.  On Tuesday 27th June, they made their way to Go Ape at Coombe Abbey and impressed everyone with their bravery on the high ropes and their impeccable behaviour! They also enjoyed a range of games in the park. Finally, on Wednesday 28th June, the children worked in small teams to research, design, create and present a scale-model of a 'Wild Creation' as part of the Discovery CREST award.
