VE Day Celebrations
On Thursday 8th May 2025, the United Kingdom celebrated Victory in Europe Day to celebrate the 80th anniversary. To mark this important historical occasion, KS1 children enjoyed a picnic, just like the celebrations and street parties being held across the country in 1945. The afternoon was filled with fun as the children listened to (and danced to!) wartime music from the 1940s and learned about the significance of VE Day in bringing peace to Europe at the end of World War II. We even formed a lively conga line around the playground! The children were able to successfully recall the reasons we were celebrating and understand how communities came together to celebrate hope and peace.
