News from week ending Thursday 22nd May
Year 1 Library Visits: On Tuesday 20th and Thursday 22nd May, Year 1 visited Bell Green Library. The children enjoyed listening to two stories and even had time to create some colourful artwork based on one of the stories. The children were given a library card and were able to choose a book to bring back to school. Year 1 will then return these books to the library in a few weeks’ time. They were all excellently behaved and enjoyed the time at the library.
Junior PCSOs: Our Year 5 Junior PCSOs were busy again on Wednesday 21st May. They were given the task of investigating a crime scene, which involved them considering evidence at a fictitious crime scene and questioning “suspects”. They then took on court roles, asked more questions and made a final decision as to whether they thought the “suspect” was guilty or not.
Bikeability: Our Year 5 children are currently having weekly cycling lessons and they are making great progress. In the last couple of weeks (in May), they were even cycling on the roads and on Wednesday 21st May that also involved them turning right at a junction. The Bikeability staff always ensure that the chiuldren are completely safe and this involves them wearing high visibility vests and a helmet.
