Last Weeks News 27th March 26
Easter Competition: We had some really imaginative entries for our Easter bonnet and scene competition on Friday 27th March, including Eggy Potter and Eggtropolis! It was extremely difficult to choose the winners but in the end a decision had to be made and the winning entries are as follows: Ella, Aria (YN), Roman (YR), Kylan-Lee (Y1), Vera-May (Y2), Brooklyn (Y3), Aaryesha (Y4), Vanshikaa (Y5) and Kian (Y6). It will be of no surprise that the winners received an Easter egg! Thank you for supporting your children with their entries.
Wizard of Oz: On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March, we enjoyed two fantastic performances of the Wizard of Oz – the show was brilliant and retold the story of Dorothy, Toto and their friends: the tin man without a heart, the scarecrow with no brain and the lion with no courage. The children did a fantastic job of entertaining us with their acting, as well as the songs and dances and this was all through their hard work at after school and lunchtime clubs. A special mention must also go to the Backstage Crew, who designed, created and organised the props and even more importantly made sure they were in the right place at the right time! We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff who gave up their time to make our very first Easter production a huge success!
Parents’ Evening: Thank you to those who were able to attend parents’ evening on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th March If you were unable to see your child’s teacher, please don’t hesitate to request a separate appointment, either via the school office or by speaking to your child’s class teacher. We will notify you of the rearranged dates for 2RW, 2KD and Nursery parents’ evenings, as these needed to be postponed, due to staff absence.
Football Success: On Wednesday 25th March, the Moat House football team played a friendly match against local rivals Henley Green. It was a match full of excitement and many goals. Moat House was the dominant team and the final score was 3:10 with goals from Theo (4), Bradley (3), Carter (2) and Muku (1). What a great result and fantastic preparation for the upcoming football tournament in May!
Pizza Express: On Tuesday 24th March, RZE had a wonderful trip to Pizza Express in Warwick. The children loved learning how to make their own pizzas and had great fun getting hands-on by rolling out their own dough, spreading tomato passata, and sprinkling cheese on top before placing them in the oven to cook. Afterwards, we headed to Warwick Park, where the children enjoyed a picnic and got to taste the delicious pizzas they had made! The day was finished off with playtime in the park and watching the ducks by the pond.
