Last week's News 19th July 24
Summer Wishes: I’d like to wish our Year 6 children ‘all the best’ as they move on to their new schools in September and I hope that you all have a very happy and safe summer and look forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday 3rd September (remember doors will now open 5 minutes earlier at 8.35am and registers will be done at 8.45am – our new start time.
Year 6 Party: To celebrate the end of their time at Moat House, Year 6 attended a summer themed leavers' party on Thursday 18th July. All children were given a Hawaiian-style flower garland and sunglasses to finish off their beach party outfits. They enjoyed dancing the night away to their favourite songs and posing for photos in the photo booth. As well as enjoying their disco, they also had a bouncy castle, which was a big hit! All of the children had a fantastic time and we hope it was a great way to finish off their final week at primary school.
Tea in the Park: On Wednesday 17th July, we invited children to come into school in non-uniform in exchange for a contribution to the charities of the University Hospital in Walsgrave. Parents were also invited to join us and their children for afternoon tea on the school field. This was a great success and everyone had a lovely time – we even saw the sunshine for the afternoon! We managed to raise £202.05 so thank you to everyone who supported us!
Year 6 Performance: On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th July, our Year 6 children performed their Leavers’ performance “A Hint of Snow White” to a proud audience of friends and family. The children did a fantastic job of not only remembering their lines but also their stage positions. The singing was also incredible with some very brave soloists. Mariana and Dotun deserve special mentions as they were extremely convincing in their roles of the evil queen and the carpenter.
EYFS trip to Twin Lakes: On Tuesday 16th July, Nursery and Reception enjoyed a visit to Twin Lakes, where they experienced the thrills of the rides, a farm, soft play, climbing frames, as well as the water park. Not surprisingly, the water park was the firm favourite, as the children not only enjoyed the slides but were extremely excited to be able to soak their teachers! All of the children were very well behaved and had a fantastic time. Thank you to all the staff and parents who came and supported us on this trip.
Rock Steady Concert: On Tuesday 16th July, we enjoyed a star performance from our rock bands: The Black Dogs, The Superstars, The Metal Wasps and Ashy Smoke. Children from Year 1 through to Year 6 played or sang to us and they were all brilliant! We were all singing along to Shut Up and Dance, Never Gonna Give You Up, Firework and Roar. Thanks to Sophie, Will and Elise who are the Rock Steady crew and taught and supported our children.
