Mental Health Awareness in Year 5
On Wednesday 19th January, Year 5 were involved in a Mental Health Awareness workshop, in which they learned what mental health is. The class discussed their worries and that it is normal to feel anxious sometimes. The children learned strategies to help them manage anxiety, including the ‘box breathing’ technique and a method to control breathing whilst sketching around their hand. Year 5 were also reminded of the importance of sleep on their mental health, learning that sleep is key in helping the body to recover. Year 5 were engaged in the session and had a lovely afternoon!
