EYFS Nativity: On Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th December, it was a delight to be able to see our youngest children perform on stage and to welcome parents in to school to also enjoy the experience,. Miss Renshaw penned the nativity style performance “We’re going on a Special Baby Hunt” and we all thoroughly enjoyed seeing traditional characters including angels, stars and shepherds. The children sang some beautiful songs and made us all very proud.
Parents’ Evening: On Monday 5th and Wednesday 7th December, we held our first face to face parents’ evening since 2019! It was lovely for staff to be able to share your children’s progress and achievements in this way and we hope that you found the information useful with tips and guidance, as to how you can help your child at home.
Mental Health Support: On Monday 5th December, Lauren and Katie from the Mental Health in Schools team (MHST) came to visit Year 5 to teach us about some ways to relieve stress and what to do when our moods were low. One of the activities that we took part in was dancing, which put most of us in a good mood! On Wednesday 7th December, Y3 took part in a creating calm workshop. We learnt how to identify the signs of anxiety and the effect that this can have on our thoughts, emotions and behaviour. We now understand that anxiety is the way that your body reacts to help keep you safe. Finally, we learnt some mindfulness strategies and breathing techniques to help us if we are ever feeling worried about something.
