At Moat House Primary School, music is an enjoyable learning experience. We aim to develop a love for music by providing a range of musical experiences, including learning an instrument and watching live performances. Children are exposed to a wide range of music, including from a variety of musical genres, historical periods, cultures, composers and musicians, enabling them to develop a passion for music that excites them. We build upon their cultural capital by exposing children to diverse music whenever there is an opportunity, including in topic lessons and during lunchtimes. Children are given opportunities to explore, create, play, perform, listen to, evaluate and appreciate music at Moat House.
